Nesting - A Pregnancy Perk | momaroo

Nesting - A Pregnancy Perk

Since I found out I was pregnant in February, the first thing one of my family members told me was,?"You're going to have fun nesting." When she told me, I wasn't sure what she meant. She told me when she had her son, she went through and ironed all of his baby clothes.?I just thought, okay, you're just crazy (she really is). Now I want to ask her "What did you do when you went into nesting mode when you were pregnant with your daughter?"?I also want to ask my mother what she did when she went into that mode, too, with all of her kids (four including myself).

The only reason I bring this up is because yesterday, I just had a sudden urge to clean everything in sight.? I started in the bathroom, got on my hands and knees, and I scrubbed the shower, toilet, floor, and walls. Then I moved out to where the sink is, picked up everything on the floor, scrubbed the sink, and cleaned the mirrors.

I did three loads of laundry (and there's still more, mostly baby clothes and blankets, and the things for the baby).

Then I moved to our bedroom. I moved the night stands and chairs that are on both sides of the bed, vacuumed under them, behind them, and up the walls. Yes up the walls! I am terrified of spiders, and there were a couple of spiderwebs around, and don't forget all the dust in the corners. (We moved into my grandparents house, who haven't been staying here, so the room's been dusty for a while.)

I want to re-organized the room so we have more space, but because it is my grandparents house and they still have some of their things here, we really can't.
There are some things that I've put in the closet that we aren't using, just to have a little more room. But because there's still two nightstands, two dressers, and a bookcase, we don't have room for a crib or anything. I am lucky to have a bassinet to put in front of the bed for now. We are hoping that my husband and his mother find a 3-bedroom place for us before I actually have the baby.

But the reason why I am going on about all the cleaning is because I don't normally go out cleaning like this. And when my husband got home yesterday he asked me, "Are you going into your nesting stage?" I looked at him like he was crazy. I don't want to go into that stage because of the story my family member had told me about ironing, and I don't want to be like that.

So I went online today to see some of the crazy things some other mommys-to-be were doing during their nesting stage, and how far along they were.
I am only 30 weeks, and I've seen alot of people do it earlier in their pregnancy, and some later. I've also read that some do it just before going into labor.

So, what are some of your nesting stories??I'd really enjoy reading all about them. Because I feel like I am not nesting quit yet, just felt like I needed to get it clean because it was time for a little bit of a change in the room :) That's what i keep telling myself anyways.
