LYNWOOD, Calif. (KTLA) ? A man suspected in the robberies of 12 insurance offices was arrested Friday, authorities said.

Jordan Dejon Grimes, 22, arrested in string of robberies.
Jordan Dejon Grimes, 22, of Paramount, was arrested after visiting friends who were staying at the Long Beach Inn, located at 2900 East Pacific Coast Highway in Long Beach, L.A. County Sheriff?s Lt. Kent Wegener said.
After Grimes left the hotel, deputies attempted a traffic stop. Grimes exited his car, threw a gun and attempted to flee on foot, Wegener said.
He was apprehended by sheriff?s deputies and taken into custody.
Grimes is suspected in the robberies of 12 insurance offices, Wegener said, including three Fred Loya Insurance franchises in one week. He could potentially face a maximum sentence of life in prison if convicted.
A civilian crime analyst searched through past crime bulletins after watching surveillance video that was broadcast by KTLA, Wegener said. The analyst discovered that Grimes was wanted in connection with another robbery.
The first of the three alleged Fred Loya robberies took place in Bellflower. According to an employee, a gunman ordered the employee and a customer to the ground.
?He was telling us, ?If I see any of you guys get up, I?m gonna come back and shoot you in the head,? the employee, whose identity KTLA is protecting, said.
The gunman stole cash from of a desk and then demanded the men?s wallets, the employee said.
?So he went and he?s like, ?I said give me your wallet.? That?s when the customer got really scared,? the employee said.
?He panicked trying to get the wallet out, and finally when he got it out that?s when he threw it,? he said.
The robber took the money out of the wallet and then tossed it back, according to the employee.
Two days after that incident, an office in Inglewood was robbed the same way, police said.
Then, two days after that, another robbery occurred at a Fred Loya office in Downey.
?I seen him and I recognized him, and I already knew that he was going to rob us,? a female employee from the Downey office said.
?I don?t think he?s going to stop until they get him,? she said.
All 59 Fred Loya branches in Los Angeles began locking their doors after the robberies, and a picture of the alleged robber was posted outside every location.
